Your home shouldn't be spying on you.

Smart home and surveillance that live inside your house. No cloud. No telemetry. No endless subscriptions.

Almada · Setúbal · Margem Sul · Greater Lisbon

The "smart home" they sell you isn't really yours.

Your doorbell sends video of your front door to servers you don't control. Your thermostat learns your habits in a cloud somewhere in the United States. The TV tells its manufacturer what you watch, and who. Your lights need internet permission to turn on.

And when the company shuts down, moves the service behind a subscription, or simply changes its mind — you're left with a house full of smart equipment that's become useless overnight.

That's not intelligence. It's dependency in disguise.

There's another way to do this.

I install systems where the intelligence lives inside your house. A small, discreet server does the work that's normally done in the cloud: automations, camera motion detection, control of everything. Recordings stay on your drive. Your networks are separated so the cheap Chinese gadget can't see what your computer is doing.

And when you need access from outside, you connect through an encrypted link that only you have.

The internet can go down. The company that made your equipment can go bust. Ten years from now there may be no such thing as "Alexa".

Your home keeps working.

Real privacy

Your camera recordings never leave home. Cheap devices are isolated on their own network, away from what matters. Nothing is sent for analysis, AI training, or "service improvement".

Works offline

Automations run locally. If the internet goes down — and it will — the lights keep listening, the sensors keep watching, the cameras keep recording. Your home doesn't notice.

No expiry date

No monthly subscriptions to foreign companies. No dependency on brands that can disappear. Built with open technologies. Ten years from now, it's still yours.

I don't sell equipment. I build a system designed for you.

Every home is different. Every client has different priorities. Before proposing anything, I visit the site, understand how you live, and design a system around you.

  1. We talk. No commitment, no pressure. I explain what I do, understand what you need.
  2. I visit your home. I survey the existing infrastructure, identify what can be reused, map what needs to be installed.
  3. You get a clear proposal. Detailed equipment list, transparent prices, realistic timelines. No small print.
  4. I install. Configured, tested, and handed over with a personalised manual.
  5. I stay present. Optional monthly maintenance — controlled updates, monitoring, support. No surprises.

Hi. I'm João.

I'm from Almada and for years I've been doing at home exactly what I now offer to do at yours: segmented networks, a local server running automations, cameras without cloud, encrypted remote access. I started because I wasn't willing to hand over my home to companies that treat data as a commodity. I keep going because I keep meeting people who want the same.

I don't have a team. I'm the one who does the survey, the design, the installation, and the support. For clients like you, this is actually an advantage — you always have the same person to ask.

Questions you probably have.

Does it work if the internet goes down?

Yes. Everything inside your home keeps working. You only lose remote access from outside.

What if you go out of business in a few years?

I work with open technologies. Even without me, your home keeps working, and any competent technician can maintain it. You won't be locked into a proprietary product.

Can I keep the equipment I already have?

Almost always. During the site survey I identify what's worth keeping and what makes sense to replace. I don't push unnecessary equipment.

Is it more expensive?

Depends what you're comparing it to. More expensive than an Alexa? Yes. More expensive than an equivalent cabled installation from the competition? Usually not. And when you factor in ten years of subscriptions, it tends to work out cheaper.

Let's talk.

The first conversation is free and commitment-free. I'll explain how it works, understand what you need, and from there you decide whether it makes sense to go further.
